Our walnut wine is made from infusing young, green California walnuts with specially-curated red wine from Amador County, California. The fourteen-step recipe follows in the tradition of seventeenth-century French wine making, deriving many techniques from those passed down through generations in the Provence region in Southern France.
The first sip, or ‘mise-en-bouche,’ starts smooth, with the subtle flavor just slightly remaining on the palate. With future sips, you will experience the perplexingly delightful hints of caramel, vanilla, and chocolate.
The walnut wine may be enjoyed however you please, but it is most traditionally served either as an aperitif or as a dessert wine. The ideal serving temperature is that of a June evening in Provence: approximately 20 degrees Celsius or 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Some prefer drinking the walnut wine from a larger glass to enhance the aromatic experience and more fully taste the complex flavors. To maintain the integrity of the walnut wine, it is best stored in a dark room at a similar ambient temperature.
